The Sisters’ Livelihood

People often wonder how the sisters support themselves. A daily sustenance is provided by the providence of God as He works through generous people who share their time, talents and goods with us and our own labor. Our benefactors receive abundant blessings from the Lord for their generosity to his spouses. Each Monastic Community finds its own means of support which responds to the needs in the community where they live.

The Sisters’ Lifestyle

The sisters’ day is made up of prayer, both common and personal and various type of work which utilize each sister’s gift for service in love of God and neighbor. There are also recreation periods each day for outdoor exercise and enjoyment of companionship with other sisters in addition to free time each day for personal projects such as letter writing, reading and hobbies.

Each sister has an hour each day assigned to her to adore the Lord on behalf of all people. Nighttime adoration is also assigned so that the able bodied sisters can fulfill this privilege of accompanying our Lord while many sleep.

Community Outreach

“Come apart into a dessert place and rest a while.” Mark 6:31-32

The sisters welcome visitors to their chapel for daily morning mass and anytime during the day until 6pm for prayer before Jesus and the Blessed Sacrament exposed every day.

Every Friday and Saturday the chapel is also open until 11pm and midnight respectively for night adoration. Additionally everyone is welcome to become a member of the Pious Union. The members share in all the spiritual work of the sisters and also receive 4 yearly mailings from the monastery. Three of these mailings are invitations to public novenas which are held yearly in our chapel in honor of Corpus Christi, Our Lady of Sorrow, and St. Joseph.
